FE Analysis Engineer

The Southwest’s leading provider of analysis services has an opening for an engineer with 0-5 years of experience to join our CAE Services time providing analysis services and eventually join our team providing ANSYS technical support and training.

PADT is a 50+ person company located in Tempe Arizona, a suburb of Phoenix.  We are an ANSYS Channel Partner for the Southwestern US AZ, NM, UT, NV, CO, EP (El Paso TX).  We not only sell the software, but we provide world-class support to our customers along with some training and mentoring that is also considered world-class.  We use every ANSYS, Inc. product on a regular basis, giving our employees a chance to not only do traditional stress/vibration/heat transfer but also CFD, EMAG, Electrostatics, Explicit Dynamics, etc...  This is all done on a large network of high-end desktop machines and a growing server farm.

Mechanical Lab Manager

Phoenix Analysis & Design Technologies (PADT); an established provider of mechanical engineering outsourcing services, has an immediate opening for a Mechanical Lab Manager in our growing Systems Research and Development business unit. This position is responsible for coordinating all of PADT's on site laboratories and works with project leaders and engineers to define and execute tests to meet the objectives of various ongoing projects.

The type of testing includes mechanical and electrical performance, endurance, environmental and noise for a very wide variety of industries. Tests usually focus on verifying the robustness of designs, understanding system performance, or investigating the effectiveness of design decisions.

The position requires a significant amount of ingenuity and creativity in order to develop clever but safe and effective tests. It also requires good debugging and investigative skills for mechanical and electronic control systems.

The position manages the physical resources of each lab to ensure efficient utilization. There are no personnel management responsibilities beyond assigning tasks to lab technicians and engineers. The Mechanical Lab Manager is also responsible for safety, organization and cleanliness in the labs.

A secondary responsibility for this position will be to perform mechanical design tasks in support of lab activities as well as in support of various projects in the company. Past projects have included work on: Hydrogen Fuel Cell accessories, semiconductor equipment, medical devices, fluid pumping solutions, and high-efficiency pumps and blowers.

Applicants MUST meet the following criteria:

• B.S. degree in mechanical engineering or related field
• 5 + years experience in designing and executing engineering experiments
• Ability to do fundamental calculations for analysis and data reduction of systems using tools such as Mathcad or Excel
• Proficiency in one or more of the following CAD packages: Solid Edge, Pro-Engineer or Solid Works
• Excellent written and verbal skills
• Demonstrated leadership skills
• Strong work ethic

Receptionist

Tempe engineering company is seeking an intelligent, independent worker with great people skills and outgoing personality to be our receptionist. 

Fairly typical reception job responsibilities include answering phones, greeting customers and vendors in the lobby, helping with mailing, shipping, travel arrangements and filing.  It also includes some administrative tasks involving ordering of supplies and shipping them as well as data entry and maintaining some basic spreadsheets. Office environment is friendly, flexible but very hard working with a staff that is over 80% engineers.  Hours are 8-5 with an hour for lunch and breaks.
The most important requirement for this job is being friendly and positive with PADT’s customers, employees and vendors both over the phone and in person.  The receptionist must reflect the company’s world-wide reputation for enthusiasm, intelligence and dedication. Having a strong sense of humor and being an independent worker is also required. Applicants should have good computer skills and know how to find things on the internet and have experience with MS Word and MS Excel. The receptionist must be at work 8:00 am every morning. The ideal candidate is a mature and confident individual who is interested in staying in this position over the long term.

  • Loading and unloading advanced rapid prototyping machines such as Stereolithography and Selective Laser Sintering stations.

Test & Production Technician

Work with PADT's Systems R&D group in their design, testing and production of high-performance machinery for a variety of industries. Duties will include:

  • Support production with assembly, acceptance testing, and quality testing of PADT developed rotating equipment.
  • Assembly, debug, and testing of development pumps, blowers, and various custom rotating equipment.
  • Assembly and Development testing of motor controllers
  • Assembly, debug, and testing of semiconductor/vacuum systems, medical systems – and more. 
  • Design and assembly of test rigs and ancillary test components  
  • Programming of data acquisition systems
  • Data reduction, spreadsheet evaluations, and report writing

Requirements:

Applicant should have 5-10 years of technician experience with assembly and testing of mechanical and/or electro-mechanical systems. Experience with medical, rotating or vacuum systems equipment a plus. Applicatns should show the following charcteristics:
