PADT Sponsors University of Arizona Design Day ”Best Mechanical Design” Award

PADT was proud to be both a sponsor and a judge at this year’s Design Day at the University of Arizona. This competition for undergraduate engineering students was a great opportunity for members of industry to review over 50 design projects from every department at the engineering school. The students once again showed a remarkable amount of resource and understanding of design basics. PADT was also very pleased to award the “Best Mechanical Design” award to a team that prototyped a medical device that removed slides from a cartridge, moved them along a linear conveyer belt where they can be loaded into any number of treatment stations, and then placed them inside a slide booklet for review and storage. PADT looks forward to continuing its participation in next year’s competition.
