Mechanical analysis and simulation is a challenging but rewarding area.
Using the finite element method, and related numerical methods, engineers
can create virtual representations of components and systems that simulate
real world behavior under a variety of loads and constraints. The results
produced by these simulations can then be used to aid in the design process,
or to resolve an existing performance or reliability problem.
By combining extremely experienced analysts with the very best tools
available, PADT has established itself as a provider of world-class mechanical
analysis services. Analysis can be a time consuming and expensive process
if it is not applied correctly. In order to conduct timely and cost effective
simulation, the analyst must possess several key characteristics:
- A firm grasp of basic physics, dynamics, and material behavior
- An understanding of 2D, axisymmetric, and 3D geometry...and
its creation
- Familiarity with theoretical foundations of the numerical methods
being used
- Complete knowledge of the analysis software
- Strong programming and scripting skills
- In-depth familiarity with operating systems and productivity
tool
Every member of PADTs analysis staff possesses these characteristics.
Most of the engineers gained their experience working in industries that
push the edges of analytical technologies, such as turbine engines or
electronic packaging. While working at PADT, they all have learned the
importance of speed and have developed skills and techniques that result
in unequaled turnaround times for even the most complex analysis studies.
By combining this type of expert with the best-in-class software programs
and hardware platforms, PADT is able to provide a complete, affordable,
and useful analysis solutions to its customers.
This PADT approach to analysis can be applied to a variety of individual
problem types, or a combination of types. Our analysis staff is very proud
of its ability to solve new and different analysis challenges, both large
and small. On every class of problem that is encountered, Our engineers
work hard to develop better and faster ways of providing solutions to
our customers. The majority of PADTs analysis efforts can be classified
into the following
One of PADTs specialties is multi-physics analysis.
In this type of simulation, the effects of several different disciplines
that interact with one another are modeled. An example would be fluid
flow and heat transfer, or magnetics and stress. PADT has also earned
a reputation for conducting complex large deflection, time-dependent studies
of impact events.
Most of our analysis customers fall into one of two categories: those
with no in-house analysis capabilities, and those with in-house analysis
capabilities. For both types of customer, PADT establishes a close and
integrated working relationship. Communication plays a very important
role as the model is built and the analysis constraints are applied. Every
effort is made to understand the underlying requirements of the customer
so that the anaysis results are more than just a number, and
are useful from both a qualitative and and a quantitative perspective.
Once the analysis is completed, the engineers who conducted the work explain
their methodology and provide the customer with all of the data that is
needed to independently reproduce the results. |
