— PADT Seminar Series Presents —

Fluid Solid Interaction with ANSYS, Inc. Products

- FSI -

NOTE: This seminar has been cancelled.

Modifying their products to provide easy to use and accurate Fluid-Solid Interaction (FSI) simulation has been the number one priority at ANSYS, Inc. for some time. With the recent acquisitions and enhancements due out in October, the company has made even more significant gains in this important area. This seminar will focus on the practical application of the various FSI capabilities in the tool set. We will not only discuss what the tool set is, but how to effectively use it on real world problems.

Anyone using or thinking of using ANSYS, CFX, FLUENT, FLOTRAN, AUTODYN, LS-DYNA or Harvard Thermal products should attend this highly technical seminar that will include real world examples that they can use as tutorials for their own FSI modeling. We will focus on the ANSYS-CFX coupling through the MFX solver, but will also touch on the other ANSYS, Inc. products that support FSI.

The proposed agenda is as follows:

Introductions

  • Definition of FSI
  • Issues involved in Accurate and Efficient FSI modeling
  • FSI with ANSYS & CFX
    • Inside the MFX Solver
    • Setting up a problem
    • Monitoring progress
    • Evaluating Results
  • Using the MFX Solver to apply CFD Derived Loads
  • FSI in Workbench
  • FSI with AUTODYN and other Century Dynamics Products
  • FSI in Harvard Thermal (TAS/TASPCB) products
  • Special FSI Elements in ANSYS
  • FSI with FLUENT, FLOTRAN and other Products
  • Lessons Learned and Tips
As always we invite participants to add their experience and expertise to the discussion. If you can’t come to Tempe, feel free to let us know you will be attending through WebEx.
