Help Browser
The Pedal help browser is a fully compliant Mozilla based HTML rendering engine. Consequently, it can display static HTML pages, like the ANSYS documentation, as well as media rich, dynamic web pages such as the ANSYS home page. Furthermore, Pedal supports a tabbed notebook interface similar to many popular browsers today. Double-clicking in the open space next to a tab will create a new tab with a complete web browser. Each browser tab has its own toolbar for navigation and search capabilities. The following table describes the individual items in the tool bar.
Help Browser Toolbar

| Input Field | The input field doubles as a search input box for the ANSYS help system and also a URL address bar for the HTML Browser. To search the ANSYS documentation, type the search phrase into this field and press [Return]. To navigate to a particular URL, type the URL into this field and press [Shift]+[Return]. | |
| Stop Load | Stop loading the current HTML page. | |
| Search Index Dropdown | This dropdown control allows you to select a particular search index you would like to use for subsequent searches within the ANSYS help documentation. New search indices are created using the Application Settings Dialog. You can create as many search indices as you would like. Furthermore, searches performed using the F2 keyboard shortcut from the text editor use the currently selected search index in the active browser tab. |
