PeDAL Help

ANSYS Configuration Dialog

This dialog is used to specify the versions of ANSYS to use.

PeDAL configure ansys installation

When Pedal runs for the first time, it launches the ANSYS Configuration Dialog to configure it's integration with the installed copy of ANSYS v12.0. During configuration, Pedal searches through the ANSYS documentation to build up a list of documented ANSYS commands and their arguments. It also makes note of where the individual command documentation is located so that it can quickly recall it on demand. This process takes some time, but Pedal caches all of the information in a database for quick subsequent retrieval. Most likely you will only need to run this configuration once. However, if you uninstall ANSYS and install a newer version, you will need to reconfigure using this dialog. Note, however, that reconfiguring ANSYS deletes all references to command aliases and all custom help indices. Use this only if you reinstall ANSYS to a different location.

PeDAL configure ANSYS installation

When you click on the ANSYS Installation in the check list, the dialog presents the reconfigure button which you can press to reconfigure this ANSYS installation. Again, note that reconfiguring ANSYS deletes all references to command aliases and all custom help indices. Use this only if you reinstall ANSYS to a different location.
