The Trilobe
design employs three lobes on each of the intermeshing rotors
and excels in situations that demand moderate pressure at very
low flow rates. The integrated design places the motor within
the gear sump and thus provides a compact system that is totally
sealed which makes the Trilobe suitable
for handling supersaturated air, hydrogen, or reformate mixtures.

| Feature |
Benefit |
| Unique three-lobed rotor design |
High pump head efficiency (~60%): reduced power consumption,
motor size, cost, and noise. |
| Entirely sealed rotating group |
Won’t leak water or hydrogen from the system. |
| Integrated brushless DC motor that is water, oil,
and grease tolerant |
Deals well with supersaturated mixtures. Motor operates spark free
with long life and high efficiency. |
| Simple integrated design is constructed from aluminum
and plastic |
Only 4 major parts manufacturable from high volume approaches provides
a low cost robust solution. |
| Scalable design: The pump head is extended on one
side of the bearing system and allows easy flow scaling |
Allows matching with alternate pressure and flow requirements by
changing motor speed and pumphead length. |
| Protected bearings sit in vented dead cavities
at extremes of housing |
Prevents lubricant migration and contamination of bearing balls
and retainers, thus providing long life. |
