ANSYS Benchmark #3: Procedure

Example PADT has created this online benchmark database for the ANSYS user community. The success of this effort will rely upon the user community running and submitting results as follows. Other benchmarks can be seen on the Benchmark Index.

A Test of the Video Subsystem

This particular benchmark is designed to test the video capabilities of your system.  This benchmark should be run in interactive mode as the only significant process on you system. Results that are substantially faster or slower than other systems of similar configuration will be flagged for verification.

Note that graphics window size is very important to frame rate. Please run the benchmark with the screen size at the same size that you normally would!

Procedure for Benchmarking

  • Run the following script interactively,
    fini
    /clear
    /prep7
    et,1,63
    esize,.1
    CYLIND,1, ,0,10,0,90,
    amesh,all
    eplo
    /reset
    /DIST, 1 ,10,1
    /output,bench3,dat
    /demo,1000,1
    eref,all
    /demo,1000,1
    eref,all
    /demo,1000,1
    /output,term
  • An ouput file called bench3.dat will be created in the working directory.
  • Search the output text file for the word “frame” to locate the three frame rates which are reported.
  • Use this information to fill in the form below. If you don't know some of the information, you can leave it blank.
  • Click the Submit button at the bottom of this page, and you will then be redirected to the Results List where your new entry should now appear.
