ANSYS Benchmark #6: Procedure

Example PADT has created this online benchmark database for the ANSYS user community. The success of this effort will rely upon the user community running and submitting results as follows. Other benchmarks can be seen on the Benchmark Index.

A Test of the Hard Drive

This benchmark creates 125,000 elements and 10,000 volumes, and then saves and resumes the database 35 times. The amount of data written and read has been lengthened to provide an adequate scale of comparison for newer and faster hard drives.

Procedure for Benchmarking

  • All available benchmark input macro files can be downloaded here: Benchmark MAC files - run it in batch mode.
  • An ouput file called bench6.dat will be created in the working directory.
  • Using the solution’s wall time (dwall) and CPU time (dcpu) listed at the end of the output file, fill in the form below.
  • Click the Submit button at the bottom of this page, and you will then be redirected to the Results List where your new entry should now appear.
