501 - ANSYS/LS-DYNA

You should attend this course if you analyze problems involving contact, large deformations, nonlinear materials, high frequency response phenomena, or problems requiring explicit solution. This course takes advantage of the ANSYS/LS-DYNA software. You should have a B.S. in engineering or equivalent engineering experience, and also have experience with ANSYS, preferably analyzing structural nonlinear transient phenomena. This two-day course will help you to perform explicit dynamics analyses. This class makes use of the traditional ANSYS interface. After completing this course, you will be able to:

  • Distinguish the types of problems that should be solved explicitly versus implicitly.
  • Identify and choose element types, materials, and commands used in explicitly dynamics analyses.
  • Perform all procedures for an explicit dynamics analysis using ANSYS/LS-DYNA.

You should attend this course if you analyze highly nonlinear, short duration structural problems involving contact, impact, large deformations, nonlinear materials, etc., using the ANSYS Explicit STR product within ANSYS Workbench. You should have a B.S. in engineering or equivalent engineering experience. This two-day course will help you to perform explicit dynamics analyses. After completing this course, you will be able to:

  • Understand explicit dynamics basics including meshing and pre-/post-processing.
  • Define body interactions between objects
  • Utilize various material models
  • Utilize the Workbench persistent process for explicit dynamics simulations
  • Perform a what-if parametric study

503 - ANSYS AUTODYN

You should attend this course if you analyze advanced highly nonlinear, short duration structural problems involving contact, impact, large deformations, nonlinear materials, etc., using the ANSYS AU product within ANSYS Workbench. You should have a B.S. in engineering or equivalent engineering experience. This two-day course will help you to perform advanced explicit dynamics analyses. After completing this course, you will be able to:

  • Use the Autodyn interface
  • Perform Autodyn analyses taking advantage of the ANSYS Workbench process.
  • Utilize the multi-material Euler solver
  • Utilize the Euler blast (ideal gas) solver
  • Utilize the ALE solver
  • Utilize the mesh free (SPH) solver
  • Use advanced material models
  • Model Euler-Lagrange interactions
  • Understand the application of parallel processing
