1000 - Geomagic Studio Course

This three-day instructor-led course covers all the necessary tools for successfully using Geomagic Studio. The user will learn how to interact with the application, edit point cloud data, generate and edit STL models and generate surfaces for downstream applications.
Who should Attend?
This introductory course is designed for new users to Geomagic Studio who have a need to create usable STL/surfaced models from scanned part data.
What will I learn?
After completing the course, users will be able to:

  • Register, merge and manipulate point cloud data.
  • Procees, repair and manipulate polygonal data.
  • Layout and construct NURBS surfaces.
  • Extract regional data to design intent surfaces.
  • Export data for downstream applications

Prerequisites
In this course the user will be working intensively with Geomagic Studio. To successfully understand the content and complete the activities, the user must already be able to:

  • Understand and use Windows conventions.
  • Understand engineering application terminology.
  • Understand basic scanning techniques.

1100 - Geomagic Qualify Course

This three-day instructor-led course is designed to help users evaluate the benefits of computer-aided inspection and how to succeed in developing automated inspection processes. The user will learn how to align scan data with CAD models, compare the scan data to the CAD models, perform additional analysis, generate reports and automate this inspection process for repeatability.
Who should Attend?
This course is designed for new users to Geomagic Qualify who are responsible for creating inspection reports and processes.
What will I learn?
After completing the course, users will be able to:

  • Prepare the scan data for the inspection process.
  • Perform alignment between the CAD model and the scan data.
  • Evaluate scan data using 3D anaylsis tools, e.g. GD&T, Annotations.
  • Perform 2D Analysis, e.g. Dimensioning.
  • Generate an inspection report in various output formats.
  • Apply initial inspection processes on subsequent scan data with automation.

Prerequisites
In this course the user will be working intensively with Geomagic Qualify. To successfully understand the content and complete the activities, you must already be able to:

  • Understand and use Windows conventions.
  • Understand engineering application terminology.
  • Understand basic scanning techniques.
  • Understand basic mechanical part inspection practices.
