Course Description

Course 203

ANSYS Mechanical APDL Dynamics
You should attend this course if you analyze the dynamic response of structures. You should have a B.S. in engineering or equivalent engineering experience, and should have already attended Course 101 or have similar ANSYS experience. Using the traditional ANSYS (non-Workbench) interface, this two-day course will help you to perform basic types of dynamics analyses. After completing the course, you will be able to:
  • Calculate the natural frequencies and mode shapes of linear elastic structures (modal analyses).
  • Analyze the response of structures under the action of time-varying loads (transient analyses).
  • Analyze the response of structures whose loads vary sinusoidally (harmonic response analyses).
  • Reduce model sizes using matrix reduction options.
  • Perform analyses in both the time and frequency domains (spectrum analyses).
  • Perform random vibration analyses (PSD analyses).
  • Perform modal analyses on structures whose models have been prestressed.
  • Perform modal analysis on cyclically symmetric (repeatable wedge) structures.
  • Utilize Component Mode Synthesis for modal analyses of large structures.
