Course Description

Course 206

ANSYS Workbench Mechanical Rigid & Flexible Dynamics
You should attend this course if you are interested in analyzing structures with the rigid (kinematic) as well as flexible structural dynamics capabilities that are included in ANSYS Workbench Mechanical. You should have a B.S. in engineering or equivalent engineering experience, and should have already attended the 104 – ANSYS Workbench Simulation Introduction course or have similar ANSYS Workbench Simulation experience. This one-day course will help you to perform simulations of rigid as well as flexible bodies. This class makes use of the ANSYS Workbench interface and utilizes the ANSYS Rigid Dynamics license. After completing the course, you will be able to:
  • Understand the implementation of rigid/flexible dynamics in WB Simulation.
  • Designate bodies in an assembly to be rigid or flexible.
  • Include joints and springs in your simulation.
  • Set up and solve a rigid dynamic simulation.
  • Postprocess a rigid dynamic simulation.
  • Include contact, joints, and springs in a flexible dynamic analysis.
  • Set up, solve, and postprocess a flexible dynamic analysis.
  • Mix rigid and flexible behavior in the same simulation.
