A physical part or assembly used in manufacturing to hold a part or check the shape of a part.
In additive manufacturing a fixture may be made with additive manufacturing or fixtures may be used in post-processing to hold parts during various processes.
Different from a jig in that a jig guides or controls the motion or location of another tool. A fixture only holds the part or parts.
