A type of material extrusion additive manufacturing where a material is fed into a heated extruder where it is fully melted and then deposited on the current build layer. It is a more general term than fused filament fabrication because it refers to any feedstock that is fully melted. However, it does not refer to processes where the feedstock is softened for extrusion, but not melted.

Abbreviated as MEM.
