A type of powder bed fusion additive manufacturing that uses a laser to fuse a polymer powder into a solid one layer at a time. The laser fuses the top layer of the powder in the powder bed, the build plate is lowered, and a new layer of powder is spread across the top of the powder bed. The process is then repeated. The laser used is powerful enough to cause the polymer particles to sinter, but they do not melt and solidify.

Abbreviated as SLS.
