We supplement our ANSYS, Inc. offerings with a few specific tools that meet specific needs that have arisen in our services group, or our customers have asked us to address.  PADT chose Flownex as our system level thermal-fluid modeling system when we needed to find a way to get accurate system level loads for component level CFD simulations we were working on.  Much more detail on this great product can be found on our Flownex Product page.

Simulation is heavily dependent on the geometry that is used to create the numerical model.  Because of this PADT has taken some time in choosing tools to aid in obtaining, converting, modifying, and repairing geometry. 

If customers are starting with scanned (point cloud) data, legacy meshes, or with an STL file, we recommend the Geomagic suite of tools.  Geomagic Studio is specifically  a tool that is able to take point data or legacy meshes and convert them into usable geometry that can be passed to your mesher software of choice.  It can even convert this data  to a usable CAD solid model.

SpaceClaim is PADT's "go to" tool for working with other peoples CAD geometry or for creating parametric models quickly for simulating.  Easy to learn, powerful to use, SpaceClaim has shown itself again and again to be a tool that can deal with almost any geometry need.
