Manufacturing Engineer - Metal Additive Manufacturing

Location: Tempe, AZ

PADT is currently seeking a full-time Manufacturing Engineer to specialize in metal additive manufacturing for our Rapid Prototyping group.

The Metal Additive Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for planning and executing metal additive manufacturing process development and implementation that supports growth opportunities for PADT in additive manufacturing technologies. The engineer is also responsible for supporting customer metal 3D printing projects using material or hardware provided and, serves as an expert for metal 3D printing services offered by PADT. Provides technical support to the 3D printer sales and Simulation software sales teams and Engineering Services.

  • Evaluates, develops and implements metal additive manufacturing processes.

  • Develops and implements post-processing techniques and procedures for metal Additive Manufacturing processes. This includes stress relief, heat treat, final machining and finishing.

  • Provides budgetary and lead-time estimates for each project.
  • Develops and implements inspection procedures, techniques and standards to qualify additively manufactured components.
  • Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding process capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate the manufacturing processes.
  • Applies statistical methods to estimate future area requirements and potential.
  • Provides technical support including; demonstrations, benchmarks, technical presentations, and training for the sale of 3D printers, simulation software and engineering services.
  • Interfaces with metal 3D printer manufacturers, material suppliers and service providers to ensure the equipment are in good operating condition.
  • Keeps abreast of the latest metal 3D printing technologies, material development and applications and makes recommendations to keep advancing and improving PADT’s 3D manufacturing capabilities.

Inside Sales representative

PADT is currently seeking an Inside Sales Representative for its Simulation Sales Group. The Inside Sales Representative will identify new, up-sell and cross-sell opportunities (through tele-based activities), including identifying leads, progressing leads through the pipeline, and providing sales qualified leads to outside sales account managers by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with marketing and account managers to build a qualified pipeline of customers for use as sales leads, based on information from ad inquiries, trade shows, direct mail responses, card deck leads, aged leads, dealer resellers, business directories, Internet Web sites, and other sources
  • Identify target markets, develop leads and directly prospect into those accounts
  • Make outbound lead follow-up calls to potential and existing customers by telephone and e-mail to qualify leads and sell products and services

PADT helps innovative companies tackle complex engineering design challenges using leading simulation and rapid prototyping technologies and is currently seeking a High-Frequency Electromagnetics Application Engineer for its Simulation Sales and Support Groups. The Electromagnetics Application Engineer is responsible for helping customers solve complex engineering problems using ANSYS software products. The position involves working closely with customers and internal teams in a consultative and supportive technical role. The ability to research problems and find solutions to wide variety of problems is paramount. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

Application Engineer, Low Frequency Electromagnetics

Location: Torrance, CA

PADT is currently seeking an Application Engineer for ANSYS Simulation Software in its Torrance, CA office.


The Application Engineer provides technical expertise for ANSYS simulation software in support of PADT's sales team through strategic pre-sales and technical scoping activities utilizing proven domain expertise, problem solving, demonstrating and presenting to customers by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Presenting PADT's expertise and capabilities to prospects and customers and helping to grow relationships
  • Conducting in-person and web-conference discovery meetings with customers
  • Defining customer requirement specifications, and discussing software capability
  • Assisting in the development and generation of formal sales proposals to ensure technical accuracy
  • Perform benchmarking with ANSYS tools as needed and collect various performance and accuracy metrics
  • Coordinating and delivering sales collateral, presentation project plans, process flow, provision specifications, and service level definitions
  • Creating detailed implementation plans inclusive of sales strategy by addressing schemes, service level agreements, and network validation and testing procedures
