Design a Better Future!

This contest is designed for high school students in Arizona to create or redesign and improve exsisting engineering products. Take this challenge and design a better future.

Contest opens August 14th, 2014! The submission deadline is October 15th, 2014.

The Competition

High school students in Arizona: If you wish to compete in this competition, please fill out the application here and follow the directions on it. Once you complete your design send us an STL file, as well as a 3-5 minute video about your design. Tell us how you came up with your design and why it improves an exsisting engineering solution. Also, have fun! Your design should be creative, realistic, beautiful, and achievable. For more information see the contest rules here! You must also sign a media release for this contest. Please send it to us once you are registered. You can fax, scan and email, or mail the completed release to us.

Who Can Enter?

3DPAZ only allows high school students to enter this competition.

Each school is allowed up to 3 design entries. Students are allowed to work individually or in teams, which we encourage!

Media Release


Once the submission deadline passes, we will review everyones amazing entries and select finalist for the contest. The number of finalists will depend on the amount of entries we recieve. The prize money we are awarding are school grants, not scholarship money.



We will be 3D printing your masterpieces, so you can see them come to life! You will also be invited to attend an award ceremmony at PADT.



There will be a total of 3 winners in the contest.
  • 1st Place: $500 Grant
  • 2nd Place: $300 Grant
  • 3rd Place: $200 Grant

    Creativity Award

    There will be one special creativity award for the contest. With a bonus prize of $150. This award will not be given to 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place winners.
