Sr. Application and Support Engineer


Location: Southern Callifornia


PADT is currently seeking a Sr. Application & Support Engineer in the Southern California area. The Sr. Application and Support Engineer provides technical expertise in ANSYS simulation and related software to PADT’s customers as well as in support of PADT’s sales team. Technical support is provided by assisting customers in usage of PADT’s software products, facilitated by learning and training in multiple ANSYS and related software tools. Assistance to sales is accomplished through strategic pre-sales and technical scoping activities utilizing proven domain expertise, problem solving, demonstrating and presenting to customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the following essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily.

  • Providing on-going technical support via in-person, phone, email, or web conference to current PADT customers and prospects
  • Training and mentoring, from existing or custom-written material, customers and prospects on software applications or use cases
  • Presenting PADT’s expertise and capabilities to prospects and customers and helping to grow relationships
  • Conducting in-person and web-conference discovery meetings with customers
  • Assisting in the development and generation of formal sales proposals to ensure technical accuracy
  • Perform benchmarking with ANSYS tools as needed and collect various performance and accuracy metrics
  • Coordinating and delivering sales collateral, presentation project plans, process flow, provision specifications, and service level definitions
  • Providing expert advice on application of ANSYS to specific use cases
  • Maintaining customer relationships in the form of update presentations, periodic meetings, or account reviews with existing stakeholders
  • Educating colleagues in areas of expertise and participate in training to minimize personal technical deficiencies
  • Creating and maintain sales case studies for all non-standard sales opportunities
  • Developing technical marketing material for ANSYS including tutorials, blog postings, and videos

Senior Production Planner


Location: Tempe, AZ


PADT is currently seeking a Sr. Buyer/Planner in its Tempe Arizona office. The Sr. Manufacturing Planner/Buyer is responsible for: 1) Sourcing and purchasing materials, supplies and services, and 2) Processing customer orders, coordinating production workflow and schedules, and managing shipping logistics to support the Manufacturing Technologies department operations. This position is involved in performing the following essential duties.

  • Process all customer request for quotes (RFQ), purchase orders (PO) for the manufacturing technologies department

Account Manager, Flownex Simulation Software


Location: Tempe, AZ or LIttleton, CO


PADT is currently seeking an Account Manager for the sale of Flownex software. The Account Manager is responsible for all Flownex software sales activities, from lead generation through close in an assigned territory and is responsible for maximizing sales profitability, growth and account penetration. Products are sold directly to end users primarily via face-to-face contact by performing the following duties.

Flownex is the world leader in engineering simulation technology that enables companies to study how systems will behave in the real world, where fluid is the driving factor. A background in sales to Turbomachinery, Nuclear, Aero/Def or other similar industries is a plus!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform all sales activities for new and renewed business
  • Establish, develop and maintain business relationships with current and prospective customers in order to generate new business for the organization

Materials Engineer - Manufacturing


Location: Tempe, AZ


PADT is currently seeking a full-time Materials Engineer for 3D scanning & Additive Manufacturing to join the Manufacturing Technologies team in Tempe, AZ

Summary

The Materials Engineer is responsible for planning and executing 3D Scanning and Printing/Additive Manufacturing processes for customer projects. The engineer is also responsible for inspection and/or reverse engineering of customer projects using material or hardware provided. Serves as expert for an extensive range of 3D scanning services, methods and printing services offered by PADT. Provides technical support to the 3D printer sales team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develops, evaluates, and improves 3D Scanning, Digitizing, Printing and Additive Manufacturing processes and procedures using various 3D methods and technologies.
  • Develops 3D scanning and reverse engineering processes and procedures using various contact and non-contact 3D digitizing technologies.
  • Provides necessary calibration, service and maintenance of all 3D scanners. Interfaces with internal and external customers to understand specific project requirements and determine suitable processes and workflow.
  • Constructs 3D models from scan data to accurately represent the part(s) scanned.
  • Uses a variety of 3D modeling and point cloud post processing engineering tools to manipulate the scan data.
  • Provides budgetary and lead-time estimates for each project.
  • Processes 3D scanning jobs to meet customer specifications and accuracy. Prepares post-processing reports and data as required by the customer’s statement of work.
  • Processes the printing jobs to meet customer requirements. Communicates post processing requirements with technicians to ensure parts are finished properly.
  • Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding process capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate the manufacturing processes.
  • Applies statistical methods to estimate future area requirements and potential.
  • Provides technical support including; demonstrations, benchmarks, technical presentations, and training for the sale of 3D printers & scanners.
  • Interfaces with scanner manufacturers, material suppliers and service providers to ensure the scanners are in good operating condition.
  • Keeps abreast of the latest 3D Scanning technologies, material development and Additive Manufacturing applications and makes recommendations to keep advancing and improving PADT’s 3D manufacturing capabilitie

  • Min. 5 years of experience in an engineering position with exposure to manufacturing, part validation and quality. Strong Materials Engineering background, specifically with Polymers and Elastomers.
  • Experience with Prototyping.
  • Experience with Machine Operation, including programming, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Knowledge of FDM (filament deposition modeling), style 3D printers.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, including characteristics, GD & T symbols, specifications and process requirements.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality systems and standards.
  • Proficient in SolidWorks 3D (preferred) or similar CAD tool.
  • Experience with 3D scanners and point cloud data, a plus.
  • Experience in 3D printing processes and materials, a plus
